Edwar Ambor's Biography

Hello my name is Edwar Ambor. I am 11 years old and I’ve been training for five years. What I do as a hobby is build stuff. I build all kinds of things. My greatest challenge is to build a go kart. Before I used to like and still like to help my dad. I help my dad in his sheet metal shop. I sometimes help my dad by drilling holes or making brackets. I also like drawing fiction characters. I am a quiet person and I like to hang out with my friends. When I started taekwondo my dad would rent movies like Karate Kid, Secret Ninja III, so I decided to do taekwondo.

After I learned the academy tenets what impacted me the most was number four. It said that to be responsible I needed to finish what I started, to always fulfill my promises and to always be accountable for my actions.   That made me realize how important it was to finish what I had started with taekwondo.

Today is an important day for me because I finally reached my goal and I have worked really hard to achieve my black belt.

My favorite part of taekwondo is sparring because it challenges me mentally and physically and I know that there is something that I can always improve. My parents and my sister always give me support. My sister is already a black belt and she always encourages me to continue to the end. My defining moment in tae kwon do was when I started learning to take-down people. It made me realize that I could apply these techniques in a real situation. Tae kwon do helped me become a better person by giving me more discipline, obedience and loyalty. My goal after achieving 1st dan in taekwondo is to continue my practice and learn more about using nunchaks.
